I recently received a question from a new mom that is having trouble finding the right sized crib shoe. The problem she's running into? Even the newborn crib shoes are too big!
In all fairness, I had this same problem with Ella, and it's pretty common. Just like baby clothes sizing, manufacturers all have a different standard for what is considered the "average" size of a baby foot.
Here's my advice to this new mom; maybe it will help other new parents as well!

How critical are crib shoes anyway? My radical(?) suggestion would be to dress her in cute frilly socks with the lace and leave it at that. Of course I had the opposite problem. My son’s feet too big for the heirloom shoes he had been handed down to wear at his christening….
I don’t think crib shoes are critical at all to be honest, though I do find socks to difficult to deal with as well. I had the problem of socks always sliding off my little girl’s feet.
And, if you’re naturally drawn to shoes … well, you might be more inclined to buy crib shoes (I’m totally guilty of this by the way).
